Valrie Jewel Lay Cox

1944-2018

Valrie Jewel Lay Cox, 74, of Moreland, passed away at home on Sunday, December 23, 2018.

Born September 4, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William Ralph and Theta Marie Lee Lay. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Earl Estes Cox, Jr. She was a member of Junction City Wesleyan Church and enjoyed sewing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Mack (Wanda) Lay of Anderson County; four sisters, Brenda Roy of Ohio, Nancy (Charles) Brown of Anderson County, Kim Hamilton of Pulaski County, and Beulah Garrett of Casey County.

She is preceded in death by a son, Danny Joe Edwards; and a daughter, Melissa Edwards; and by three brothers, Junior, Bradley, and William.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Pastor Bobby Tolson. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Caney Fork Cemetery.
