Earl Eugene “Speck” Nantz, 86, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville. He was the husband of Ollie Marie (Cummins) Nantz whom he married on April 23, 1954. Earl was born on April 1, 1932, in the Stamping Ground Community of Laurel County to the late Theo Chelsey and Daisy Edna (Amburgey) Nantz. He was the co-owner and operator of Nantz Frame Shop and he also had worked at Builders Supply in Stanford. Earl was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he was an Airman 1st class. He was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and the Fort Logan Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ollie Nantz of Stanford; son, Mark Keith Nantz and wife Donna of Stanford; daughter, Debbie Jean Martin of Danville; brother, Theo Nantz and wife Helen of Frankfort; four grandchildren, Charles Matthew Martin and wife Aleshea, Lyndsey Gail and husband Aaron Carpenter, Ezekiel William Nantz and wife Jade, and Ariel Goldie and husband Jason Brewer; great grandchildren, Jacob, Ava, Taylor, Emerson, Reese, Sloan, Sawyer, Arabella and Elijah John Keith.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by sisters, Janice Blanton and Margaret Price; and son-in-law, Jerry Martin.

Funeral services 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Pleasant View Baptist Church with Bro. Kyle Page officiating. Burial will be in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. funeral time at Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Pallbearers include Aaron Carpenter, Matt Martin, Chuck Jacobs, Jason Brewer, Mike Bastin, Michael Nantz and Zeke Nantz. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Gideon’s Bible Fund.
