Charlene Durham Benge

1941-2019

Charlene Durham Benge, 77, died Saturday, January 12, 2019. She was the daughter of the late William Elwood and Sibbie Turner Durham. Charlene was the owner of the family business Durham’s Beauty School, which has been in her family for 77 years.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, James Benge of Danville; daughter, Debbie (Kevin) Stamper of Stanford; sons, Robert “Bobby” (Heidi) Bell of Franklin and John Michael (Elaine) Bell of Danville; her sister, Charlotte Pena; grandchildren, Erica Cook and Lakeland T. Bell ; great grandchildren, Bryce Cook and Cade Jenkins.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Rev. Dr. Darryl Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
