William “Bill” Houghton

1931-2019

William “Bill“ Houghton, 87, died January 9 in Rockport, Massachusetts. Son of Reverend Edgar and Christine Houghton, he grew up in Anchorage, Ky. Graduating from Center College and the University of Kentucky, he became an educator in Louisville, Danville, Chicago and New York City. He retired to Louisville and recently moved to Rockport to be near his daughter and her family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; daughter, Rebecca Shrimpton, Rockport; son, Adam, Mesa, Arizona; sister, Jane Snowden, Danville; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Visitation and service Saturday at Central Presbyterian Church in Louisville.
