Campbellsville graduates largest class in history

CAMPBELLSVILLE — Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University, told 680 undergraduate and graduate students in two commencement ceremonies Friday Dec. 7, the largest in the history of the university, to thank those who helped them along their journey and that today will be a day they will remember.

A total of 1,653 students received their diplomas for the 2017-18 academic year. Diplomas are given upon completion of all academic requirements.

Carter welcomed those attending and told them Dec. 7 was a “very historic day” when soldiers sacrificed tremendously on Pearl Harbor Day Dec. 7, 1941, as Japan attacked the United States, leading the U.S. into World War II.

Tiffany Netanya Riggins of Liberty graduated with a bachelor’s of music in music education — instrumental emphasis.Brandi N. Holtzclaw of Bethelridge graduated with a bachelor’s of science in criminal justice administration area.Charissa Shaye Edwards of Kings Mountain graduated with a bachelor’s of science in criminal justice administration area.Kimberly Gail Jeffries of Waynesburg graduated with  a bachelor’s of science in early childhood education.Nicholas Tanner James of Danville graduated with a bachelor’s of science in educational ministries. Logan Curtis Curtis of Danville graduated with a bachelor’s of science in general business single option major.

Corey Shewmaker of Harrodsburg graduated with a bachelor’s of science in general business single option major.Trevor Dominique Short of Harrodsburg graduated with a bachelor’s of science in liberal arts and science. Zakary Russell Wilson of Danville graduated with bachelor of science in mass communications with broadcast/digital media. Abigail LeeAnn Dean of Junction City graduated with a bachelor’s of science in middle grades education, 5-9. James Micah Smith of Liberty graduated with a bachelor’s of science in nursing RN to BSN. William Beau Coffman of Liberty graduated with a bachelor’s of science in pastoral ministries area. Anita L. Harris of Liberty graduated with a master’s of arts in school improvement. Rebecca Cummins Shearer of Stanford graduated with a master’s of arts in school improvement. Hannah Marie Martin of Liberty graduated with a teacher leader master’s of arts in special education.
