DBCHS Pets of the week, Jan. 30
By BARB BEANEY
Our featured pets for this week are Pip and Bonnie.
Pip is a wonderful 1-year-old calico kitty with gorgeous emerald green eyes. She was brought to the humane society because her owner could no longer care for this sweet girl. Pip was an indoor cat and gets along with everyone she meets. She has a quiet personality and loves to be pet and taking naps in a sunny window sill. Pip would make a wonderful addition to most any family. If you are looking for a forever friend and sweet lap-warmer, come and meet this fancy feline.
Bonnie is a cute 1-and-a-half-year-old heeler mix. She weighs 33 pounds and is a pretty tri- color with adorable prick ears. Bonnie has a sweet and loving disposition, but she is a little intimidated by the new surroundings at the humane society. She wants to be close to her handler for a sense of security. Bonnie will blossom as she gains confidence, she just needs an adopter who is willing to spend some extra time with this special girl and give her the training and love that she deserves.
This Saturday is our monthly DBCHS obedience class. The class is held at 12:30 p.m. inside the service department at the Stuart Powell Ford Dealership on the 127 Danville Bypass. The class is free for those who have adopted from a shelter or rescue. Others are welcome to attend for a small donation to the Humane Society. If you would like to attend, please pre-register for the class by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or you may call the Humane Society at (859) 238-1117. Space is limited so please sign up by Friday at noon. We’d like to give a BIG thank you to our wonderful friends at Stuart Powell Ford for donating this indoor space for our class each month.
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
