Barbara Ann Chambers Short, 72, died January 30, 2019. Born September 17, 1946 in Danville, she was the daughter of Cebert Stanley and Josie Sue Wilkerson Chambers. After graduating from Seaman High School, Seaman, Ohio, Barbara attended Morehead State University. She was employed Palm Beach as a seamstress and Walmart in the concessions and retired from Whirlpool, Matsushita and Panasonic. Barbara’s many talents included sewing, quilting, crocheting, cross stitch needlework and she also made decorative beaded Christmas ornaments. She loved going to Pigeon Forge and attending Craft Conventions. Most of all Barbara loved her granddaughters and spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Lena Chambers; and sister and brother-in-law, Edna Francis Chambers and Vernon Cleve Stevens.

She was survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenny Short; two sons, Jeffrey W. (Amy M.) Short of Lexington and Derek R. Short of Erlanger; her sister, Paulette Chambers (Billy) Hargis of Danville; and her grandchildren, Carson Parker Short and Taylor Burke Short.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Sandy Lacey will officiate. Visitation will be 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 prior to the service. Private burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
