It was a busy night in area basketball.

Danville boys 60, Russell County 46

Ethan Wood broke a backboard during warmups at Russell County High School, forcing the two teams to play at Russell County middle school.

Wood scored six points in the Admirals’ victory. The team was led by Zach Thornton’s 14 points, followed by DeShaud St. Martin 13, Darrian Bell 10, Dante Hayden 8, Caden Hill 5, Trey Dawson 4.

Danville hosts Somerset on Thursday before visiting East Jessamine Friday to conclude its regular season schedule.

The Admirals will play the winner of Garrard County and KSD in the 45th District semifinals on Feb. 20.

Wayne County 74, Boyle County boys 60

Boyle County junior Reese Smith scored 27 points to surpass the 1,000 career point milestone in Boyle County’s game Tuesday at Wayne County.

Luke Imfeld added 20 points for the Rebels, while Jacob Lassiter led the team with eight rebounds.

Boyle’s final regular season game is Thursday at North Oldham.

The Rebels will face Lincoln County in the 45th District semifinals at Garrard County on Feb. 20.

Lincoln County boys 64, Lexington Catholic 61 (OT)

Blake Smith scored 21 points to lead Lincoln County to an overtime victory over Lexington Catholic in Stanford on Tuesday.

Darius Napier added 15, Jaxon Smith scored 12 and Baylor Mattingly and Elijah Frye each added six points for the Patriots.

Casey County girls 99, Danville 97

Ivy Turner scored 46 points in her final home game of her career, but it wasn’t enough for Danville against Casey County on Tuesday.

The Rebels hit 35 of 39 free throws in the win. Gena Cravens poured in 34 points, Lauren Lee added 26. Casey has won 11 straight games.
