Rose Neal Edmiston

1924-2019

Rose Neal Edmiston, 95, died Monday, March 18, 2019. She was born in Danville on January 27, 1924, to the late Harry Lou and Ola Williams Neal. Rose was a 1942 graduate of Danville High School and a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. She was a secretary in the Danville Independent School District and retired from ATR.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Roy Edmiston; and a granddaughter, Mallory Edmiston Goggans.

Rose was a life force – She had a compassionate heart to help people and couldn’t turn away a stray animal. She may be riding through the pearly gates with St. Peter, but she is telling him how to drive.

She is survived by her son, Roy Edmiston; and two daughters, Betty (Joseph David) O’Daniel and Rosemary (Jim) Akin; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.
