Mercer County grand jury indicts 12 in March

The following people were indicted by a Mercer County grand jury on March 13:

• Christopher Maddox, 34, Harrodsburg: first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, methamphetamine. Bail was set at $10,000. Brandon Curlis with the Kentucky State Police testified.

• Kyle Webb, 34, Burgin: second-degree assault causing serious injury. Bail was set at $10,000. Wes Gaddis with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office testified.

• Austin Lathrem, 25, Harrodsburg: second-degree assault with serious injury. Bail was set at $10,000. TJ Wren with the Harrodsburg Police Department testified.

• Harold Herring, 42, Danville: flagrant nonsupport when he failed to support his two children. Bail was set at $5,000, nonrefundable. Chestina Quinn testified.

• Kenneth Brawner, 42, Harrodsburg: second-degree escape by failing to return to the Boyle County Detention Center as ordered by the judge. Bail was set at $5,000 and Gaddis testified.

• Natasha Russell, 31, Harrodsburg: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth. Bail was set at $5,000. Aaron Miller with the HPD testified.

• Tiffany Varvel, 29, Danville: first-degree bail jumping by failing to appear for a status hearing. Bail was set at $10,000. Kari Wilson testified for the Commonwealth.

• Shannon Bryant, 32, Bowling Green: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, heroin. Bail was set at $5,000. Sean Brown with the MCSO testified.

• Dennis Sparrow, 39, Harrodsburg: first-degree criminal mischief by causing more than $1,000 in damage to property; leaving the scene of an accident. Bail was set at $5,000 and Miller testified.

• Manuel Story, 27, Danville: first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia, scales. Bail was set at $10,000. Brian Cloyd with the HPD testified.

• Kelsey Hopkins, 20, Danville: first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia, scales. Bail was set at $10,000 and Cloyd testified.

• James Moore, 48, Stanford: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, cocaine; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone. Bail was set at $10,000 and Brown testified.
