Charles Gilbert Carmickle, Jr.

1929-2019

Charles Gilbert Carmickle, Jr., 89, died Tuesday, March 26, 2019. He was born in Burgin, Kentucky on August 19, 1929, to the late Charlie and Erma Merriman Carmickle. Charles was retired from Canteen in Lexington which was previously Servamation in Danville. He was a farmer and attended Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Lucille Wilder; two brothers, Howard and J.W. Carmickle.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Carmickle of Danville; three sons, Barry Wayne (Arneda) Carmickle of Lexington, Jerry Ray (Diane) Carmickle of Elizabethtown, Ronnie Carmickle of Danville; a daughter, Karen Sue Johnston of Lexington; two grandchildren, Jason and Lindsay Carmickle.

The graveside service will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2019 at Bellevue Cemetery. Rev. Brad King will officiate. Visitation will be noon – 2 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home.
