Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen to meet

HARRODSBURG — Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen (FHBCH) members will hear special guest speaker Barclay De Wet, a Method Ambassador for Clinton Anderson’s Downunder Horsemanship, during its meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 at the Mercer County Extension office in Harrodsburg. Barclay will discuss her experiences as a student, talk about her training facility in Paris, Ky. and detail horsemanship opportunities she can provide. She will also field questions about problems that members are having with their horses.

Discussion will also be held concerning upcoming trail work days, a trail ride and potluck at Shaker Village on April 14 and other activities. Voter registration at Grace Café

Kentuckians for the Commonwealth will be holding voter registration events at Grace Café 219 S. Fourth St. on Friday, April 5 and Friday, April 19. Registration will be available during the restaurant’s lunch hours, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on each day.

People registering to vote will need to provide a home address and a Social Security number. Voters must re-register to vote if they change their names or move.

Big Toy Day April 13

The annual Big Toy Day event will be held  Saturday, April 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. From 9:30-10:30 a.m. there will be no honking or noise to accommodate those with sensory issues.

There will be lots of big equipment for kids to see and explore, crafts, face painting and a food vendor. The event is at the Showroom, 2405 Lebanon Road. Cost is $20 a car load. Proceeds go to benefit the Wilderness Trace Child Development Center.
