Casey County grand jury hands up indictments on 13

The following people were indicted by a Casey County grand jury on March 25:
• Carla R. Wilcher, 51, Liberty: first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $1,500. Liberty Police Chief Steven Garrett testified.
• Keith Ray Taylor, 45, Whitesburg: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; no or expired registration plates; improper registration plates; no liability insurance second offense; failure to transfer vehicle; no registration receipt; no driver’s license. Bail was set at $1,500. Trooper Billy Begley with Kentucky State Police testified.
• Harley Ray Meeks, 19, Liberty: third-degree burglary in a building owned by Craftsman Masonic Lodge and or Order of the Eastern Star; theft by unlawful taking of property valued between $500 and $10,000 including multiple Masonic jewels, chains, lapel pins, Eastern Star pins and numerous other items. Bail was set at $10,000 and Garrett testified.
• Ethan Daniel Atwood, 20, Liberty: third-degree burglary in a building owned by Craftsman Masonic Lodge and or Order of the Eastern Star; theft by unlawful taking of property valued between $500 and $10,000 including multiple Masonic jewels, chains, lapel pins, Eastern Star pins and numerous other items. Bail was set at $10,000 and Garrett testified.
• Chad Daniel Atwood, 40, Liberty: receiving stolen property valued between $500 and $10,000 including multiple Masonic jewels, chains, lapel pins, Eastern Star pins and numerous other items; two counts second-degree persistent felony offender; tampering with physical evidence. Bail was set at $10,000 and Garrett testified.
• Eric Scott Herring, 38, Stanford: receiving stolen property valued between $500 and $10,000, a pickup truck; two counts persistent felony offender; first-degree criminal mischief of a van belonging to Middleburg Baptist Church; theft by unlawful taking of gasoline less than $500. Bail was set at $5,000. Geoff Brown with Casey County Sheriff’s Office testified.
• Adam Ray Rakes, 39, Campbellsville: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia; second-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $1,500 cash. Casey County Sheriff Chad Weddle testified.
• Amber Nicole Wall, 34, Yosemite: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth, third offense; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug unspecified; possession of marijuana; third-degree possession of a controlled substance, unspecified. Bail was set at $2,500. Jayson Grider with the CCSO testified.
• Ethan C. Whited, 28, Stanford: first-degree fleeing or evading police by while driving under the influence of intoxicants; no seat belts; disregarding a stop sign; reckless driving; speeding 26 mph over limit; no or expired registration plates; no registration receipt; no insurance card. Bail was set at $5,000 and Grider testified.
• Jason Mark Clements, 41, Liberty: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth, second offense; no insurance card; excessive window tinting; expired registration plates; no driver’s license; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $1,500 and Grider testified.
• Joseph A. Singleton, 54, Liberty: first-degree wanton endangerment by pointing a loaded gun at a minor; tampering with physical evidence; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Summons was issued. Daniel Forbis with KSP testified.
• Jason Elvis Luttrell, 34, Liberty: first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, meth; three counts first-degree persistent felony offender; tampering with physical evidence; first-degree promoting contraband into the Casey County Detention Center; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; second-degree wanton endangerment; DUI second offense; no insurance card; no seat belts Summons was issued and Begley testified.
• Hope N. Dempsey, 33, Liberty: first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, meth; two counts persistent felony offender; tampering with physical evidence; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; second-degree disorderly conduct; resisting arrest. Bail was set at $2,500 and Begley testified.
