DBCHS Pets of the week, April 10

Published 8:04 pm Tuesday, April 9, 2019

Our featured pets for this week are Monzie and Sally.

Monzie is a strikingly handsome 2-year-old cat. He is mostly white with tabby markings on his tail and he has the most gorgeous green eyes. Monzie was surrendered by his owner who could no longer care for his cats. At first Monzie was a little shy, but he is now doing well in one of our kitty condos and gets along with the other cats without issue. Monzie loves to relax on the upper perch in the condo and watch the activity outside his window. Monzie is declawed so he needs a loving indoor home, which is just what this friendly fellow deserves.

Sally is a pretty 5-month-old Border Collie mix that currently weighs about 30 pounds. She is black with flashy white markings on her chest, all four legs, and of course, her cute face. The first thing you will notice about Sally are her wonderful over-sized prick ears, which give her a comical and happy appearance. Sally is a very sweet girl and she loves to play. She will do great with a family that will include her in activities and give her the exercise and training that a young dog requires. Sally is ready to bring lots of love and joy to her forever home.

This is National Volunteer Week and the perfect time to honor our fabulous volunteers at the DBCHS. We are very lucky to have so many dedicated people willing to donate their time and talents to help the DBCHS carry out its mission. It takes many volunteer hours to run our Happy Paws Spay/Neuter Clinic, our PetSmart adoption program and the Mutts With Manners training program. We also have volunteers who help out at the humane society by walking dogs, exercising the cats, assisting with office work and special events. To all our DBCHS volunteers we extend our most heartfelt gratitude. If you are interested in becoming a DBCHS volunteer you can email dbchs@bellsouth.net or call (859) 238-1117 for more information.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
