The Garden Club of Danville held a spring luncheon at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. Members enjoyed a talk by Billy Rankin, Vice President of Public Programming and Organizational Strategy. He entertained the group with stories about the history of the Shakers, new programs at the Village, and future plans. Club members traditionally wear decorated hats to the luncheon and awards are present in categories from “Most Outrageous” to “Best With Fresh Flowers.”  Winners of this year’s hat contest were, left to right, Marji Hines, Sandy Reigelman, Janie Taylor, Barbara Hulette, and Elspeth Cobb.
