Danville Christian Academy held a stick horse race for the school’s 14 kindergarten students Friday afternoon, in celebration of the Kentucky Derby. The children made their horses out of pool noodles and designed their jockey T-shirts. Even though rain threatened to cause the event to be held inside the school’s hallway, it held off just long enough for the field of runners to gallop around an oval as older students cheered them on.
