No, it’s not ‘time to move on’ from Mueller report

The man we elected to “watch TV and tweet” and Kentucky’s senior senator are singing the same song: The Mueller report is over and it is “time to move on.”  Actually, it is time for the Democrats to assume their oversight responsibilities since they are now in the majority. For the past two years, the Republicans have shirked their responsibilities of oversight and have enabled Trump to run wild.

These latest talking points about the Mueller report are curious since the Republican investigations of Benghazi went on for more than four years, and the Republicans are still pushing to reopen the investigations of Hillary’s emails, which go back to her years as Secretary of State (2009-2013). These two investigations resulted in zero indictments and cost millions of dollars. It appears hypocritical for McConnell to proclaim “case closed” after a 22-month investigation (which resulted in over 30 indictments and multiple guilty pleas) when they are still clamoring to investigate Hillary’s emails.
