Annual tasting party was a success

Doing something for 29 years and still having a great turnout proves that we are a success. On Monday, May 6th, the Harrodsburg Historical Society hosted their annual Tasting Party at the society’s headquarters, Morgan Row. The maintenance required to preserve this historic old row building is why we open it up for events and invite guests to dine in this beautiful old tavern.
The decorations and set-up crew of Maggie and Tom Hardy, Myrgle Huffman and son Fred Huffman, and Betsy Sale is a testimony of teamwork. We had delicious food for all, many repeat patrons and some who experienced this event for the very first time. They were assisted by our wait staff of homeschoolers organized by Sharnett Imfeld, hosted by Myrgle Huffman and Peggy Ellis, and served food by a delightful group of ladies as well as cashiers and we are thankful for all of them.
Of course we could not have this event if not for the delicious food provided by many members and friends and we thank them.
Even some of our local restaurants owners and businesses helped out. Thank you to the following: Jennifer Kazimer of the Kentucky Fudge Company for the delicious potato salad, Lora White of the Olde Bus Station for coleslaw, Jeff Claycomb of Lee’s Famous Recipe for chicken and LaFonda Mexican Restaurant and McDonald’s for ice, and Kroger for flowers.
We sincerely appreciate The Advocate- Messenger and Bobbie Curd for the publicity provided by her article as many commented from Danville and the surrounding area that they read about it.
We hope to see you for the 30th Tasting Party on the first Monday of May in 2020. Mark your calendar.
