Rebels blow out Franklin County thanks to big first inning

A seven-run first inning led the Boyle County Rebels softball team to a 10-3 victory Thursday.

KG Chadwell, Keely Bowling, Maddie Baker, Kelsea Hinkle, Izzy Gervacio and Hailey Cannon each had RBIs in the frame.

The Rebels fired up the offense in the first inning, when Chadwell singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

Chadwell got the win for Boyle County. She allowed eight hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.

The Rebels tallied 16 hits on the day. Baker, Gervacio, Emily Glasscock, and Ashlen Roller each collected multiple hits. Glasscock, Gervacio and Baker all had three hits to lead the team.

Gracie Mika led Franklin County with three hits in three at bats.
