Lady Ads clinch leads in sixth inning to defeat Nelson County

The Danville Lady Admirals took the lead late and defeated Nelson County 8-7 on Friday. The game was tied at six with Nelson County batting in the top of the sixth, scoring one run.
Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base.
Danville collected 12 hits and Nelson County had 14.
The Lady Admirals captured the lead in the second inning when Rachel Matherly singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Danville knotted the game up at seven in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the Admirals scored one run when Natalie Fieberg singled.
The Ads scored four runs in the second inning. Danville’s offense in the inning was led by Fieberg, Ellie Dampier, Amiya Crawford and Matherly, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Peyton Young took the win for the Ads. She allowed 14 hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.
The Ads saw the ball well Friday, racking up 12 hits in the game. Faith Breitenbach, Anna Swann and Fieberg all collected multiple hits for the Lady Ads
Fieberg, Swann, and Breitenbach each collected three hits to lead Danville.
Nelson County racked up 14 hits in the game, with four players each collecting multiple hits.
