HOUSTON — At the conclusion of the fourth and final round of play at the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championships at Bay Oaks G.C., Centre All-American sophomore Bailey Plourde finished in sixth place.
Plourde, who entered Friday’s round one shot back of the lead in a log jam of a leaderboard, posted a score of 78 on the final day of play to give her a four-day score of 302, finishing six shots back of the tournament champion, Cordelia Chan of Williams.
The sixth place finish is the highest individual finish for Centre women’s golf at the NCAA Championship since four-time All-American Emily Bachert was national runner up in her senior season of 2012.
Plourde shot three over par on both the front and back nine in her final found. She recorded birdies on the par 4 second and par 5 fifth holes, but they were sandwiched around birdies.
