Melvin Lee Baker, 68, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019. He was born in Parksville, Kentucky on September 15, 1950, a son of the late, Clifton Claude and Hazel Reardon Baker and was the husband of the late Judy Lee Harmon Baker.

Melvin was a member of Mitchellsburg Baptist Church and was a carpenter. He served his country in the United States Army and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a former firefighter for the Mitchellsburg Fire Department and EMT. He was the jokester of the family and enjoyed making others laugh. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and loved fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his children, Tom (Nancy) Baker and Tammy (John “Bull”) Tamme; three grandchildren, Michael and Sarah Lane, Samuel Crawley; three great-grandchildren, Skylar, Branson, Oaklyn; and two brothers, Sammy (Ruby) Baker and Richard (Bonnie) Baker.

In addition to his parents and wife, Melvin was preceded in death by three siblings, Warren, Pauline and Martha.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Bro. Keith Wheldon officiating. Burial will follow in Parksville Cemetery will full military honors. Visitation will be from 5 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Walden Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Lane, Samuel Crawley, John Tamme, Jimmy Baker, Gary and John Pike. Honorary bearers will be firefighters from the Boyle County Fire Department.
