There are several race opportunities coming up for local runners.
On May 25 is race No. 1 of the newly formed Bluegrass Trifecta BigLex 4-Miler at Keeneland race course. The never-before-run course travels 4 miles through the historic Keeneland grounds.
In addition to the 4-mile race, there will also be a 1-mile fun walk, a little kids 1K run/walk and a virtual runner/walker opportunity. The race will benefit Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farms.
The races in the series are the 4-miler this Saturday, the Bluegrass 10,000 and A Midsummer Night’s Run 5K.
Runners can register for all three at once and get more information at runsignup.com/Race/KY/Lexington/BigLex4Miler.
On Memorial Day, the Marching Ant 5K will be held in Stanford. The race is No. 7 in the Race Wilderness Trace series. It begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 27, in downtown Stanford.
The race is hosted by the Stanford Lions Club and promotes diabetes awareness. Proceeds will be split between a local diabetes organization and local Lions Club projects.
The Marching Ant 5K is in memory of Lily Brooke Bullock. For more information, call John David Friend at (859) 583-7682 or Renee Knies at (859) 304-1035.
