Memorial Day honoring of fallen service members

The city and county will honor the 77 names on the memorial wall at Danville Memorial Gardens, 4627 Stanford Road, at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25. The event, sponsored by Danville Memorial Gardens and all of the veterans associations, will honor service members who gave all for our freedom. Speakers will be Boyle County Judge Executive and Gen. Howard Hunt, Danville Mayor Mike Perros, Jack Hendricks, and each of our Post Commanders if they are present.

Hotdogs and drinks will be served, and speakers will be Boyle County Judge-Executive Howard Hunt; Danville Mayor Mike Perros; and former Magistrate Jack Hendricks, a veteran, and each of the post commanders who are present.

“We are trying to make folks remember exactly what Memorial Day is for, honoring our fallen who died for our freedom,” Hendricks said.

The city and county will issue a joint proclamation to honor the fallen.
