Manles Elijah Lasure, Jr.

1943-2019

Manles Elijah Lasure, Jr., 76, of Stanford, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, Kentucky.

Born on April 24, 1943, to the late Manles Green Lasure, Sr. and the late Grace Gilpin Lasure. Manles was the owner and operator of Lasure’s on Main Street in Stanford, Kentucky since 1975. In addition, he was a farmer, cattle farming was his passion. He was a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church in Danville, Kentucky. Manles was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his family dearly.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Hopkins Lasure of Stanford, Kentucky; two sons, Jody Lasure of Stanford, Kentucky and Jeff Lasure (Debbie) of Stanford, Kentucky; two brothers, Charles Lasure (Rosie) of Orlando, Florida and Paul Lasure (Janice) of Lancaster, Kentucky; two sisters, Alberta Wood and Mary Alice Still of Louisville, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Ashley Lasure, Kayla Lasure, Josh Lasure and Ethan Lasure; and several nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John W. Lasure, Elvin B. Lasure, Carter Lasure and Robert Lasure; and three sisters, Thelma Sebastian, Florence Miesenhimer and Louvenia Douglas.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
