Schacht nets second All-Region First Team honor from ABCA

GREENSBORO, North Carolina — Centre baseball’s Drew Schacht was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region First Team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
The honor comes just days after Schacht was placed on the D3baseball.com All-South Region First Team. He also garnered All-Southern Athletic Association First Team accolades as a utility player.
Schacht graduates as Centre’s record holder in a handful of statistical batting categories, including career hits (212), stolen bases (75) and walks (113), and on the mound holds the career saves record (19).
He was among the team and SAA leaders this season with 58 hits, a .377 batting average and .465 on-base percentage. On the mound, he made 17 appearances and recorded a 2.49 ERA with seven saves.
ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Americans will be announced the evening of Thursday, May 30 following the Opening Ceremonies at the NCAA Div. III World Series.
The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
