Rep. Palumbo to speak for Women’s Network

Rep. Ruth Ann Palumbo will speak to The Women’s Network 7 p.m. June 11 at The Inter-County Energy’s community room, 1009 Hustonville Road. Palumbo has represented District 76 (downtown Lexington, and eastern Fayette County) since 1991 and is a Democrat.

Palumbo will share her perspective on how the legislature has changed recently, the

2019 General Assembly and the fall election. She will also share her personal view of what it’s

like to be a woman in Frankfort. Her concern and efforts especially go to protect Medicaid expansion,push for increased funding for education, support gun safety and promote mental health.

Rep. Palumbo will welcome any comments or questions, and the meeting is open to the public.

First and second rehearsals set for Summer Singers

Summer Singers will rehearse 7 p.m. Monday, June 10 in Grant 114, in the back part of the Norton Center for the Arts, on the very lowest floor. The second rehearsal will be held 7 p.m. on June 17 in the same location.

Meeting

Perryville City Council — 7 p.m., Thursday, June 6 at the Perryville Community Center. Items on the agenda include an open forum with Jeff Jones discussing an alleyway and Earl Coffee talking about the water system upgrade; second reading of the 2019-2020 fiscal year budget; smoking ordinance; mechanical braking on semi-trucks.
