DBCHS Pets of the week, June 12

Published 8:40 pm Tuesday, June 11, 2019

Our featured pets this week are Chan and Eva.

Chan is a gorgeous young adult cat. He is an unusual rich chocolate brown color with lots of white markings. This boy is truly handsome. He also has a personality to match his good looks. Even though Chan was a stray, he is very friendly and social. He has been neutered and is ready for a forever home. If you are looking for a cat that will not only make a great companion but also has a unique appearance, then Chan is the perfect cat for you.

Eva is a darling 1-year-old mixed breed dog. She’s medium-sized and may be part shepherd and heeler. Eva has a mostly white body with a large black spot on her back and tri-coloring on her face. She also has cute stand-up ears. Eva is a happy dog and loves to play with toys and with other dogs. She will race around and explore in the exercise yard and then come and flop at your feet when she’s ready for a rest. Come meet this pretty girl and you will want to make her a part of your family.

Are you considering adopting a cat or kitten? Here are five reasons why cats make great pets. Provide a clean litter box and cats house train themselves. Cats can easily live in smaller homes and apartments. Some kitties are very quiet and some are more vocal, but they don’t bark. Cats are fun and will entertain you with their cute and quirky behaviors. They provide warmth. Nothing is as cozy as a cat curled up on your lap on a cold winter evening.

June is National Adopt-A-Shelter Cat month and the DBCHS has reduced the adoption fee for all cats and kittens to $25. This includes the spay/neuter surgery, feline leukemia test and vaccinations. Take advantage of our special pricing during the month of June and come find your purrfect feline companion.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
