Harrodsburg student receives scholarship from Essity

HARRODSBURG — Essity, a leading global hygiene and health company with local operations in Harrodsburg has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Isaac Rowe to attend University of Kentucky, as part of Essity’s annual scholarship program for children of employees.

This year, 51 students received a combined total of $75,500 in Essity scholarships for their full-time education at an accredited U.S. or Canadian university in 2019-20. Since creating its annual scholarship program 12 years ago, the company has given more than $676,000 to high school seniors and college students.

The winners were selected based on their academic achievements, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and an outside appraisal.

Delbridge attends summer orientation at Bob Jones University

GREENVILLE, South Carolina — Madilynn Delbridge of Perryville joined members of the upcoming freshman class as Bob Jones University hosted Summer Orientation ‘19 on June 14-15 or June 21-22.

Incoming students and their parents familiarized themselves with the campus and attended informational sessions about the BJU experience including academics, student development and financial aid. Students were also able to receive academic and career counsel from faculty and register for their fall classes.

Delbridge will be majoring in nursing when classes begin Wednesday, September 4.

“Summer orientation gives incoming students the ability to meet our knowledgeable and caring faculty and receive the information they need to be prepared for classes and life as a BJU Bruin,” said BJU President Steve Pettit.

Tiller named to the Lincoln Memorial University dean’s list

HARROGATE, Tennessee — Samuel Tiller, of Danville, was named to the Dean’s List at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) for the Spring semester of 2019.

To be placed on the Dean’s List, the student must be a full-time undergraduate and have a 3.5 grade point average for the semester. A total of 531 students earned the academic recognition.

Midway University announces spring 2019 dean’s list

MIDWAY — Midway University is pleased to announce the students who have been named to its dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester. To be named to the list, a student must be classified as full-time and obtain a 3.60 grade point average for the semester. There were 239 students who made the dean’s list.

Area students included on the list include: Parker Monhollen, Lancaster; Morgan Robinson, Crab Orchard; Brandon Ballard, Harrodsburg, Jason Peavler, Harrodsburg, Hannah Ritchie, Harrodsburg, and Marissa Walker, Salvisa.
