Mattie Louse Johnson

1937-2019

Mattie Louse Johnson, 82, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Annie Warner and was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur “Sammy” Johnson and Forest L. Burton, four sisters and one brother.

Mattie worked at American Greetings Corporation for 34 years where she enjoyed meeting people and making new friends.

She is survived by seven children, Anna R. Burton Mundy, Margaret L. Burton Edelen, Sandra Burton Carter, Charles (Margaret) Burton, Samuel (Sheila) Johnson, Keith (Phoebe) Johnson and William Cecil Johnson; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral celebration will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Perryville First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Perryville. Visitation will be Monday, July 1, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 2, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Hospice.
