Holiday closings

The Boyle County Courthouse, animal shelter, all convenience centers and recycling will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. There will also be no trash pick up on Thursday.

Public forum planned for July 8 in Perryville 

A public forum will be held 7 p.m. Monday, July 8 at Perryville Community Center, 216 S. Buell St., concerning a smoking ban. 

Test drive event to donate to A Gathering Place

On Saturday, July 13, Stuart Powell Lincoln will hold its Driven to Give event, this time to benefit A Gathering Place senior citizens center. By test-driving a new Lincoln and completing a survey, participants will receive thank-you gifts and the dealership will donate $20 per test-drive (per address) to A Gathering Place. The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and all proceeds will directly benefit senior citizens of Boyle County. 

 Danville Airport Young Eagles Day rescheduled

The Danville Airport Young Eagles Day has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Danville-Boyle County Airport, 420 Airport Road. There will be free airplane rides for children ages 8-17. We will also have lunch available. Children must attend with a parent or guardian and must sign a waiver. Danville renting spaces at fairgrounds for yard-sale

The City of Danville is now renting spaces at the Boyle County Fairgrounds for the 127-Yard Sale. Interested individuals can go to danvilleky.gov for more information, or contact Joyce Collins at jcollins@danvilleky.gov or (859) 238-1200. The 127-Yard Sale covers 690 miles from Addison, Michigan to Gadsen, Alabama with thousands of vendors each year.
