Waters should have compared Gardner to Trump

I don’t know how much the A-M pays Bluegrass Institute spokesperson Jim Waters to run his columns but I hope that it’s zero dollars because that’s what they are worth.

His latest screed compares Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Chance Gardner played by Peter Sellers in the movie “Being There.” Chance was a man with very limited intelligence who, nevertheless, had the knack of using simple words and repetition to fool the movers and shakers into thinking that he was so smart they couldn’t comprehend the brilliance hidden in his mangled syntax.

Actually I don’t think that the comparison with AOC is at all apt as she is extremely smart. Her Science & Engineering project in microbiology in high school garnered her a second place finish in national competition and resulted in the MIT Lincoln Laboratory naming an asteroid after her – 23238 Ocasio-Cortez. She graduated Cum Laude from Boston University with degrees in international relations and economics. I have seen her grill congressmen and literally nail them to the wall. No — AOC is one very smart lady.

The person I have been comparing to Chance Gardner for almost three years now is Donald J. Trump. A man with the vocabulary of a 10-year-old who cannot string words together to make a complete sentence and who constantly repeats himself as if he could convince people of the validity of what he says by sheer force of repetition. A man who cannot be believed as he has now told over 11,000 lies in the 894 days he’s been in office, for an average of over 12 lies per day.

In contrast to AOC, he may have a degree from Wharton, but he will not release his grades and one of his (retired) professors is on record as saying that Trump was the dumbest (expletive deleted) student he had in all his years of teaching,

AOC put together the Green New Deal while Trump pulled us out of the Paris Climate Accords. His cabinet Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Purdue refuses to allow any mention of climate change and has required all the top scientists at the Agriculture Department to relocate on short notice from D.C. to Kansas City, where there is not even an office building for them. What it is, of course, is a transparent ploy to make them quit!

BTW — June 2019 was the hottest month since records have been kept!
