Our featured pets for this week are Sissy and Deja.

Sissy is a darling 3-month-old orange and white kitten. This little cutie has sparkly eyes and a playful personality. Sissy has been at the humane society since she was about 4-weeks old. She is now weaned, and she and her littermates have had their surgeries and are ready for adoption. Sissy is a sweet girl that will surely make a great addition to most any home. Come meet this little fur baby and you will fall in love.

                  Deja

                  Sissy

Deja is a gorgeous 3-year-old Pit Bull mix. She has a lovely steel gray coat with some white markings including a perfect narrow stripe on her face. Deja was surrendered to the humane society because her owner’s landlord did not allow dogs her size. Deja is a compact 50 pounds of playfulness. She loves her outdoor time in the exercise area and will proudly carry her toys as she races around. Deja is a fun dog and she’s ready to make a fresh start in her forever home.

It’s time to renew your dog’s county license. The new county dog tags are now available for purchase at the Humane Society and the Judge Executive’s Office at the Boyle County Courthouse. County ordinance requires all dogs to wear a visible license tag. Licensing must be renewed each year during the month of July or within 30 days of acquiring a dog. The license fee is $5 if the dog is spayed or neutered and $10 for unaltered dogs. If your dog should become lost and is wearing a license tag, ownership can be traced by the tag number and your dog can be returned home much more quickly. Boyle County residents who adopt a dog at the Humane Society receive their dog license as part of the adoption paperwork.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
