Lamont” Montie” Frazer

1929-2019

Lamont Hankla Frazer died on July 19, 2019. Born in Somerset, Kentucky, Montie Frazer was 90 years old.

She graduated from Centre College in 1951 and married John Wiseman Frazer in Danville in 1950. Montie and John were married for 52 years until his death in 2002. During their marriage they lived in Lexington, KY, El Paso, TX, Louisville, KY and Danville, KY. John Frazer was an Instructor, Administrator and Board of Trustees Member at Centre College and served as Executive Director of the Council of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities.

Mrs. Frazer was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Danville, KY, where she served as a Deacon and was involved in music and worship. She was an accomplished musician and a skilled floral designer. She loved her family and friends and was an empathic listener. She was a longtime member of Chapter I of PEO.

She is survived by three children, Mary Lloyd Frazer Moore (Hamp) of Bowling Green, KY, Polly Frazer Moore (Wally) of Austin, TX and John Edward Frazer of Lexington, KY, grandchildren: Katherine Moore Mathew (Chris) of Frisco, TX, Hampton Moore III (Jenny) of Bowling Green, KY, John Wiseman Moore of Dickson, TN, Samuel Coombs Moore (Brigette) and Grace Frazer Moore of Austin, TX and six great-grandchildren: Lois Caroline Moore and Elisabeth J. Moore of Chattanooga, TN, Frazer George Mathew and Thomas Gray Mathew of Frisco, TX and Merrin Larson Moore and Bennett Hampton Moore of Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral will be Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 1:00 p, ET at The Presbyterian Church in Danville, KY with a reception to follow the service at the church. Interment will be at the Bellevue Cemetery in Danville, KY. Stith Funeral Home of Danville is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Centre College, 600 W.
