Casey County grand jury hands up indictments on 10

The following people were indicted by a Casey County grand jury on July 19:

• Edwin Dale Leroy Lane, 25, no address available: second-degree assault with a deadly weapon by stabbing or cutting and hitting victim in the back of the head with a dangerous instrument; two counts unlawful imprisonment; theft by unlawful taking of property valued less than $500; violation of protective order; endangering the welfare of a minor by knowingly failed or refused to use diligence in the control of his child to prevent the child from being neglected. Bail was set at $100,000 cash. Tyler Martin with the Liberty Police Department testified.

• Ronnie Dean Means, 62, Yosemite: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, third offense; tampering with physical evidence; first-degree persistent felony offender; driving under the influence of intoxicants; no or expired registration plates. Bail was set at $1,500. Tim Pierce with the Casey County Sheriff’s Office testified.

• Teri A. Black, 44, Waynesburg: tampering with physical evidence; public intoxication. Bail was set at $1,000 cash and Pierce testified.

• Kyle Davis Leischner, 27, Columbia: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia;  carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Bail was set at $1,500 cash. Casey County Sheriff Chad Weddle testified.

• Donald Ray Sanders, 67, Liberty: first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, meth, second offense; first-degree persistent felony offender; second-degree possession of a controlled substance, buprenorphine; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Bail was set at $25,000 cash and Weddle testified.

• Anna M. Devine, 40, Liberty: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia; two counts third-degree assault of an officer; resisting arrest; second-degree disorderly conduct; two counts menacing. Bail was set at $25,000 cash and Weddle testified.

• Charles Tyler Sanders, 24, Liberty: criminal attempt to murder by striking Casey County Sheriff and choking him; two counts third-degree assault of an officer; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; first-degree escape from officers by force or threat of force; possession of drug paraphernalia; resisting arrest; third-degree terroristic threatening when he threatened to kill the Weddle; two counts menacing. Bail was set at $100,000 cash and Weddle testified.

• Jo Ann Torres, 49, Russell Springs: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third offense, meth. Bail was set at $1,500 cash. Casey County Constable Ralph Mondi testified.

• Warren G. Atwood, 32, Liberty: first-degree bail jumping by failing to appear for sentencing; first-degree persistent felony offender. No bond was set. Commonwealth’s Detective Dennis Allen testified.

• James Michael Terry, 34, Liberty: first-degree bail jumping by failing to appear for sentencing. No bond was set and Allen testified.
