DBCHS Pets of the Week, August 7

Published 6:14 pm Tuesday, August 6, 2019

Our featured pets for this week are Tommy and Harper.

Tommy is a handsome 10-month-old orange tabby. His coat is a deep vibrant orange and he has sparkly eyes. Tommy is a playful and friendly fellow that was surrendered by his owner because she was unable to care for her pets. Tommy gets along well with the other cats in his “condo.” He is happy to get attention from visitors and enjoys the soft cuddle beds at nap time. Tommy is a sweet boy. He’s been neutered and received his other vetting and is ready for a fresh start with a new family.

Harper is a very pretty 3-year-old Pit Bull mix. She is a lovely brindle with white markings. This girl wiggles with delight when she meets new people and she gets along great with other dogs in the play area. Sadly, Harper had to be surrendered to the humane society when her owner moved to an apartment and could not take her along. Harper has kept a happy demeanor and adjusts well to new surroundings. Can you give this precious girl a second chance at her forever home?

Did you know that the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that is dependent on monetary gifts from generous individuals and businesses in our community? Every gift to the DBCHS is used to help better the lives of the animals in our care, and we treasure each and every gift.

We also appreciate donations of Purina Puppy Chow and Purina Cat Food and Kitten Chow and cat litter. Cleaning supplies such as bleach, paper towels, liquid laundry detergent, dish detergent, hand soap and hand sanitizer are used daily and we always need used towels and blankets.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
