Donald Morris Salley, Sr.

1933-2019

Donald Morris Salley, Sr., 86, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019. He was the loving husband of Marilyn Crawford Salley for 19 years. Don was born in Ross County, Ohio on April 7, 1933 to the late Morris and Dolly Mae Greathouse Salley.

Don served his country in the United States Navy, and was a member of Salt River Baptist Church where he was quite the prankster and loved to pick on his fellow church members and family. He enjoyed boating on Herrington Lake and loved animals, especially his dogs.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Marilyn are four children, Donald Morris Salley, Jr., Kathy Arrowood, Darlene Boltonhouse, Ronald Salley, two step-daughters, Patty Hicks, Judy Allen, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Barbara Montgomery and Jeanie Depugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Jerry Salley.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday August 9, 2019 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Pastor Dave Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m., on Friday.

Pallbearers are Tim Brown, Gary Boltonhouse, Mike Hicks, Ron Salley, Morris Salley and Ron Salley, Jr. Honorary bearers are Fred Morris, Anthony Shearer, George Jackson, Wade Followell, Sonny Norvell, John Trout, Donny Followell, James Lee Yates, Charles Hendren, and Norman Neal.
