Schools opened their doors for the new year early Wednesday morning. Hundreds of kids walked, rode school buses or traveled in vehicles to get to school on time. At Toliver Intermediate School, many students still looked sleepy, while others were smiling and skipping through the doors as teachers welcomed them inside.
