Hogsett Primary to have grand opening

The Mary G. Hogsett Primary School will celebrate its grand opening from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the school. There will be speakers and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. Maps will be provided to everyone who wants to take a self-guided tour of the school.

Pulse of the People planned for Wednesday

A hear-the-public event for District 6 will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21 at Edna l. Toliver Intermediate School, 209 Maple Ave. Magistrate John Caywood and others will be on hand for this continuation of the Pulse of the People series. Participants should use the Perryville Street entrance to the school.
