Men’s and Women’s Day

First Baptist Church will observe Men’s & Women’s Day Sunday, Sept. 15 at 11:15 a.m. with guest speaker, Rev. Tony Wilson, Jr. of First Baptist Church in Versailles. Rev. John C. Lee, Jr. of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bowling Green will be the 4 p.m. speaker. The church is located at 310 W. First Street, Perryville. Rev. Jeff Yocum is the host pastor.

Singing at Harris Creek

Lovin’ Life will be singing at Harris Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Fish and chicken sale

Hope Full Gospel Church will have a fish and chicken sale Saturday, Sept. 14 at 193 East Martin Luther King Street. Sale will start at 12:30 p.m. Call (859) 238-0192 for orders.

Final praise and worship series on Saturday

The final praise & worship summer series event will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14 at Junction City Park, located at 655 West Grubbs Lane.

This will be a free family event with fellowship time with praise services, testimonies and special music. There will also be several children’s activities. Participants are asked to bring their lawn chairs.

Junction City Mayor Jim Douglas will welcome the group and Aprile Hunt will lead praise and worship. Dr. Jim Clontz, director of missions for South District Baptist Association will lead a prayer for all government officials and spiritual leaders in the community. Gideon Bibles will be handed out and Kyle Long, Paster of Junction City United Methodist Church will lead the service. Music will be performed by the Junction City United Methodist Church praise team.

Fall gospel meeting at Crab Orchard Church of Christ

Crab Orchard Church of Christ will hold a fall gospel meeting Sunday through Friday, Sept. 22-27. Phil Morgan will be the guest evangelist. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Everyone is welcome.

Walden Funeral Home sidewalk prayer

Join the staff of Walden Funeral Home each Wednesday at noon during the month of October for their traditional sidewalk prayer meeting. We will pray for community and elected officials, first responders, schools, school staff and students as well as our country, its leaders and military, plus any individual prayer concerns from community leaders.

We will meet on the sidewalk in front of Walden Funeral Home promptly at noon on Wednesdays, Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. Everyone is invited to this special time of prayer.
