Danville Asst. Police Chief Glenn Doan says the department responded to another shooting Thursday, this time at 11:17 p.m. The incident was called in as shots fired at Buffalo Wings & Rings, on Commerce Street off the U.S. 127 Bypass.

Doan says that upon arrival, officers checked the area, but determined nothing was in progress and there were no injuries. They began an investigation, and spoke to several witnesses in the area, which resulted in the arrest of Cody Buchenroth, 28, of Lancaster.

Buchenroth was the passenger in a pickup truck when he fired several rounds in the air from the passenger-side window. He was on the scene when officers arrived, and once the investigation determined his identification, Buchenroth was taken into custody without incident.

A handgun was recovered from inside a vehicle, along with several shell casings.

Buchenroth is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

“The motivation for Buchenroth’s actions is unknown,” Doan said.

Earlier Thursday, a man was arrested at Fourth and High streets after he shot another man in the leg during an altercation.
