Shaker Village to hold bike race Saturday 

 

HARRODSBURG — Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill will host the inaugural Shaker Village Shakedown adventure bike race 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. The event will be held in partnership with Kentucky Adventure Bike and will be the first ever off-road cycling race held at the Village.

The race will start and finish in the historic village where onlookers can cheer on their favorite rider. Participants will race through creeks, tunnels, waterfalls, through single track, pavement and gravel. The Kentucky Adventure Bike Facebook page includes images and video for those who are curious about the course.

Riders can pre-register for the race or signup on-site for $30. Participants should plan to arrive and check-in at least 30 minutes before race time. First-place finishers will receive custom made plaques plus other great prizes from Shaker Village. Overnight stay discounts are available for those participating in the race.

Classic car cruise-in Friday for benefit 

 

Morning Pointe of Danville will hold its third annual classic car cruise-in 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 at 1375 Perryville Road. Enjoy classic cars, inflatables, live music and free shave ice (first 100 guests). All proceeds will go to the children of John Paul and Amanda Bailey, who were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident.

 

The Boyle County Extension District Board – 5:30 p.m. Monday, September 23 at the Boyle County Extension Office. This is a special called meeting to review and select a lender.
