Baseball or Football? Ernest Dunn has no doubt.

“Football is more of an ultimate team sport since it takes everybody working together in order to meet a goal, and is a great equalizer [be]cause once you’re in the field, all the differences kinda go away. And that’s when you can get the most people to come together, join a team; everybody is involved.” he said.

Through his words, it is not hard to understand his nature: a team lover, a friendly and gregarious person.

He’s a full-time worker, in fact, when he doesn’t wear assistant principal clothes, he’s the father of three kids and he loves to get involved in their difference activities: dances, basketball, baseball, football, soccer … But when he is not with his kids he enjoys watching ‘weird tv series’ on Netflix such as “Orange is the New Black” and “The Society.”

He has been working in Danville for 15 years between the elementary schools, the middle school and the high school as a teacher.

He is currently on his second year as an assistant principal. Dunn’s job is fundamentally based on observation and focused on student’s needs. His aim is to help them to perform in order to become better people. Dunn said he would like to see more students have “purpose” as they go through high school, “instead of being reflective and looking back and saying what I could have done.”

We need more personal pride in ourselves, [be]cause when you take pride in yourself and in what you do, then everything starts to become more productive and more successful.”
