A City of Danville Community Blood drive will be held 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 in the Community Room of the Boyle County Public Library, 307 W. Broadway.
Blood donations are needed year-round to ensure a healthy blood supply for the 70+ Kentucky area hospitals served by Kentucky Blood Center. Blood products are used to help trauma patients, premature babies, cancer patients and more. In fact, at some point in their life, nearly every person will be touched by the need for blood, either personally or through a loved one.
Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) is inviting generous donors to help local patients by giving at the blood drive listed below. Each donor at this upcoming drive will take home a pair of fun, limited-edition KBC socks (while supplies last).
Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D., and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org.
Walk-ins are welcome. To schedule a donation, visit kybloodcenter.org or call (800) 775-2522.
