Man charged with burglary by Danville police

A man was arrested Wednesday by Danville police for allegedly breaking into a Danville home.

Sean P. Leavell, 34, of Lancaster, was charged with attempted second-degree burglary; third-degree criminal mischief; second-degree disorderly conduct; and public intoxication with a controlled substance.

According to Danville Police, at 5:55 a.m., a resident on Wilderness Road reported that he heard glass breaking and confronted an unknown male who was trying to break into his home. When confronted, the suspect fled on foot.

Officers searched the area and allegedly found Leavell hiding in bushes behind a garage at an adjacent residence. He was arrested without incident.

Leavel was taken to the Boyle County Detention Center. Brandon Jewell and Hobie Daughterty are the investigating officers.
