A Danville man was shot and a couple’s apartment was struck by bullets in a shooting incident on East Main Street Tuesday night.
The victim was Adarius Crumble, 20, of Danville, who received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his arm.
Danville Police were called to Magnolia Place Apartments on East Main Street at 9:23 p.m. when the male resident reported that a round had been fired through the kitchen window while he was in the living room, and a second round entered an upstairs bedroom window where a female was lying in bed. Neither of them were injured.
When officers were investigating the scene, they stopped a vehicle leaving the area in hopes that the occupants were possible witnesses, said Danville Police Chief Tony Gray. Crumble was in the vehicle and after a few minutes, he told officers he had been shot in the arm. He was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Gray said Crumble didn’t inform the officers what had happened.
Police believe Crumble was shot outside of a neighboring apartment complex and was not associated with the apartment that had been struck by bullets, according to police.
Gray said police don’t have a suspect in the shooting incident and probably would not have even been called to the scene if gun fire hadn’t hit the apartment.
The investigation is continuing. If anyone has information regarding the case, they are asked to call the DPD at (859) 238-1224 or (859) 238-1220.
