This week our featured pets are Linus and Lady.

Linus is a darling 5-month old black and white kitten that was brought to the humane society as a friendly stray. This little fellow has loads of personality. He is the first to greet you when you enter the kitty condo where he resides. Linus loves attention and will settle down alongside you for attention and show his pleasure with a hearty purr. Linus has had his neuter surgery and other vetting and is ready to make a wonderful addition to most any home looking for lovable feline companion.

Lady is a very pretty 1-year old German Shepherd mix. She was surrendered to the humane society because her owner could no longer provide for her care. Lady is mostly tan with black on her back. She is an intelligent, high energy girl that will require an owner who has the time to provide plenty of exercise and structured training. Lady has lots of potential and just needs to find her perfect match; a person who has the time and devotion to help her become a wonderful and loyal forever friend.  

Did you know that this year approximately 1,500 dogs and cats will enter the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society? Many are friendly strays and their owners are not found or they are young animals from unplanned and unwanted litters. Other pets are surrendered by people who can no longer care for their four-legged companions due to lack of time, loss of income, family illness or because they are moving.
