Paul Ray Machal

1938-2019

Paul Ray Machal, 80, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at home. Born on December 23, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, KY to the late J.G. Mahal and Sarah Cox Machal. Paul worked and retired from KU after 31 years.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Coffey Machal of Crab Orchard, KY; one son, Kelvin Machal (Karen) of Junction City, KY; one daughter, Sheila Crawford (George) of Crab Orchard, KY; one brother, Charles “Chock” Machal (Joyce) of Mt. Vernon, KY; one sister, Virginia “Sis” Machal of Mt. Vernon, KY; one sister-in law, Betty Machal of Mt. Vernon, KY; three grandchildren, Kaylee Crawford, Kara Crawford and Mykal Cress; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Machal and Bobby Machal.

A visitation has been scheduled for today, (Wednesday, November 20, 2019) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY with Bro. Matthew Robbins officiating the service. Burial will follow at Saylor Cemetery in Crab Orchard, KY.

Active Pallbearers are Mykal Cress, George Crawford, Charles Gilliland, Anthony Machal, Shane Mullins and Brian Burette. Honorary Pallbearers will be the 1957, Graduating Class of Mt. Vernon High School.
