Christmas tea event successful again

Published 5:17 pm Monday, December 23, 2019

The month of December is quickly passing and Christmas will soon be here. However, we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge all those in the Danville and surrounding areas who read The Advocate-Messenger and Bobbie Curd’s great article publicizing our 28th Annual Christmas Tea sponsored by the Harrodsburg Historical Society on Dec. 6 and 7.

People STILL read the newspaper and follow events in the area, as demonstrated by the comments from our patrons.

Although we suspended our Homes Tour this year, the Tea Room was a successful event. We thank all those who came for the first time and those who have been coming for many years to the beautifully decorated Morgan Row — the oldest row house in Kentucky in the first settlement. The funds raised from this event are for the preservation of this beautiful facility and the ongoing work of preserving history by this all-volunteer non-profit group.

We sincerely thank all our volunteers and especially Triple J & C (Jack Coleman and family) for heading up the kitchen keeping the donated food hot and ready. It is a BIG job and they washed a lot of dishes!  Also, a big thanks to our advertising patrons and the patrons and friends of the Harrodsburg Historical Society.

God bless you in the New Year,

Marian Bauer
