Sandra Jo Ison

1954-2019

Sandra Jo (Sowder) Ison, 65, of Waynesburg, passed away Friday, December 27th, at the Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice Center in Lexington. She was the wife of Danny Ison whom she married on August 09, 1970. Sandra was born in Kankakee, Illinois on September 13, 1954 to the late E.J. and Gladys (Bishop) Sowder. She was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church. Sandra formerly worked for the Rockcastle Hospital, Big Lots and the D&M Market in Crab Orchard.

Ison; Daughter, Carrie & Husband Rodney Asberry; Four Sons, Greg Landis & Wife Debbie, Daniel Ison & Wife Miriam, Brian Ison & Wife Christy, & Ryan Ison; Two Sisters, Sally & Husband James Leake, & Phyllis Curtis; Two Brothers, Mike Sowder & Wife Judy and Tommy Sowder;

16 Grandchildren: Carissa Noe, Tarra Landis, Jalynn Asbury, Steven Landis, Abigail Landis, Dawn Moore, Ricky Moore, Dannielle Livasy, Alexis, Tabitha, Vanessa, Morgan & Christian Ison, Goldie & Leo Benge and Amber Carpenello ; 11 Great Grandchildren: Laney Thomas, Conner Hobdy, Benjamin, Austin, Karsen, Ryan & Jaxson Moore, Elijah Phillips, C’Anna Denson, Jayden & Caitlyn Talley

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by Daughter, Brandy Renee Ison Simpson; Grandson, Wade Ison; Sister, Becky Countryman; and a Brother, Timmy Sowder

Funeral Service 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 31st at McKnight Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Eggers officiating. Burial will follow in the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 6:00 P.M. on Monday at McKnight Funeral Home.
